Forum Overview: In current discussions of generative AI, a dominant narrative circulates: AI can do almost anything, and both teachers and students must catch up. This narrative fuels anxiety among teachers about their own role, and doubt among learners about the value of their own effort. This Forum turns its attention not to AI itself, but to the way AI is talked about in education. Panellists from diverse countries will share which narratives have dominated their own contexts, and how they have worked to reshape them, so that teachers and learners can begin to tell the story of education in their own words.

Considerations:
• Invites panellists to compare how AI is talked about in their own countries and how they have worked to reshape that talk, opening space for a genuinely cross-cultural conversation
